Social Video Editor & Content Creator

At 8bitcreative/Detailers Roadmap, 2024's Inc 5000's #301 fastest growing privately-held company, we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Video Editor & Content Creator to bring our digital content to life!
This role is perfect for a person who has a knack for editing & creating engaging content, and a drive to create high-quality educational and marketing materials. As our Video Editor & Content Creator, you will play an essential part in transforming our in-house podcast episodes, marketing videos, and educational content into captivating visual experiences for our audience.
In addition to core editing responsibilities, you will have opportunities to participate in content development, from initial ideation to final production, ensuring each piece aligns with our brand and message. Experience with CapCut or similar software, podcasting software, and video production is a bonus, and a proactive attitude in seeking new ways to enhance content is essential.

Primary Role & Responsibilities:
- Edit Podcast Episodes: Turn raw podcast recordings into polished episodes, adding intro/outro elements, sound effects, transitions, and music to maintain a high production quality.
- Create Short- and Medium-Length Content: Develop compelling short-form clips and medium-length video content from podcast episodes, designed for social media, YouTube, and other platforms to maximize engagement and reach. Tools are at your disposal to help you be efficient.
- Edit In-House Educational and Marketing Videos: Work on pre-recorded educational videos and marketing materials, focusing on storytelling, brand alignment, and content flow to enhance audience understanding and interest.
- Collaborate on Video Production: Become the producer with video shoots, including setting up cameras, lighting, and mics as needed. Capture in-house video content for marketing and educational purposes.
- Maintain a Consistent Brand Style: Ensure that all video and audio content aligns with our brand’s visual and auditory identity, using a cohesive style for all outputs.
- Experiment with New Tools and Techniques: Stay up-to-date with the latest video editing tools and content creation trends, proactively testing and implementing new features to elevate content quality.
- Optimize for Multi-Channel Distribution: Tailor videos for optimal performance across different social media channels and formats, ensuring quality and clarity for diverse audiences.
Job Requirements
- Proven Experience in Video Editing: 2+ years of experience with video editing, particularly with podcast editing, social media content, and marketing videos.
- Proficiency with Editing Software: Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and familiarity with CapCut and podcasting software is preferred.
- Basic Video Production Skills: Ability to shoot and mic in-house videos and set up recording equipment, including cameras, lights, and audio equipment.
- Ability to Travel: Willingness to travel 3-5 times per year to client shops or conventions for on-site content production.
- Understanding of Social Media Formats: Strong knowledge of social media platforms and best practices for video content tailored to each format (e.g., Instagram Reels, YouTube, LinkedIn).
- Audio Editing Abilities: Experience with editing audio to improve sound quality, balance levels, and remove background noise or distractions.
- Attention to Detail & Creativity: Ability to bring creative vision to projects while ensuring technical precision and consistency.
